I remember as a web dev in 2015 or so my peers were all like "there's a special place in hell for people who implement auto play video" which was when websites were starting to do it. ESPN was one of the first. & now it's everywhere. It assaults the senses & grabs attention against your will

We eventually got rid of it, only for it to come back years later after I left, I think
Iirc 2015 was when Facebook was inflating their video numbers & the industry was making a big pivot to video, so I remember ESPN was one of the first big websites to make the leap
Every so often, one of them would visit the front page with their speakers set to max (unknowingly) and wake up the entire office.
