Ok I’ll bite. It’s an execution and reflex challenge. Such tasks are going to fundamentally be hard for some people for both physical reasons and personal reasons. It’s also in stark contrast to the vibe of the rest of the game. The literal combat system with monsters is easer then catching a fish.

Persevere. Get lures that help...the sinker is really good cos it stops that shitty bounce when the fish is near the bottom. Took me ages but I can identify nearly every fish, just by their pattern now. Also the machine to the right in Willys shop lets you get a new bobber and mines a rubber ducky

Fishing is a skill that also uses equipment, levels, and bonuses from food. Show me someone who has decided it's impossible and I will show you someone not using these things. Also the game requires soft tapping not press - and - hold. You can teach someone to fish.

it's not hard at all, actually it's incredibly simple, just a basic reaction time check, but the real problem is it is ungodly slow and tedious... and you have to grind it to unlock means of making it progressively suck less

I agree and think it could be handled better. It does this weird thing where it makes an artificial learning curve - as your fishing skill levels, the bar becomes bigger, and the mini game becomes easier. So you have to suffer, and there are some fish that are discouragingly uncatchable early on.

I personally enjoy it but it's a pain till you're higher level and have a good rod with lures and some good fishing food. My biggest problem with it is that mashing the button is the best way to control the bar and that gets noisy. Still the best way to make early cash.
