It doesn’t surprise me at all and it’s a strategy that has been used quite successfully before by the NRA. If gun deaths aren’t centrally tracked or at all in some cases, then they must not be happening at the rates that the right purports that they are.

I live in Indiana. Abortion is criminalized and never, ever mentioned. The religious zealots running the state will go after the abortion pill this coming Session, pass a bill criminalizing access to it, and pass it in the middle of the night.
