Isn't using AT Protocol to create a decentralized social media platform when ActivityPub already exists technically protocol gating which is opposed to the idea of having a "decentralized" platform. Any thoughts? @davidimel.com

AT and AP have very different ways of looking at how social should work, while both being decentralized.
AP idealizes simplicity of the protocol to give platforms an opportunity to differentiate on top of it, while AT is highly engineered with a strong vision for how social should work.
I didn't understand what you said about AT's vision but I will read more about it. Thanks! It would be great if you could make explainer of decentralized social media on the Waveform channels. Love your detailed explanations especially on the keys to the internet ❤️
