I think this was the first ‘proper’ album that I had, aside from a few cheapo Woolies not-original soundtrack albums. Did you get the cardboard spaceship kit inside?

I have a couple of nights off the leash later in Jan and am tossing up between the Kane Gang at Dingwalls or Lyle Lovett at Cadogan Hall on the 24th. What do you reckon - chance to meet up at Dingwalls?

I did check them out on Spotify and they really did pass me by at the time, although one track (Closest Thing To Heaven) did ring a bell.

It’s the Kane Gang, as in Gun Law and Closest Thing To Heaven from back in the 80s. Kitchenware band. Still going, or started up again. You know them - you’ve just forgotten. I do that a lot these days.

Ha, nice - among the first LPs I can recall spending my own money on: "Discovery"(brand new at the time) and The Bee Gees'"Spirits Having Flown" - also produced by the stellar Jeff Lynne.
Those records brought the home stereo to life and showed what Philips were about.

This album cover 😍 Used to stare at this for hours when I was little - this and Revolver. Mum’s favourite two albums. She has much to answer for!
