I just noticed a mirror situation here:
*Faculty don't want students to use AI. **Students use AI anyway.
* Educational developers don't want Faculty to use AI detectors.
**Faculty use AI detectors anyway.
SIGH

Country/uni issue for second too, don’t think mine would consider that as evidence, they don’t work…
I don't know (m)any faculty developers who endorse AI detectors, though. I know some who give in to faculty who will use em anyway
(Naturally students reason for using things also of interests and also likely differ!)
I sympathise with those suddenly facing huge workloads from it all
U.K. uni’s pushed turnitin to include an off option for its detector, then turned it off.
I do hear some mention and use but tends to be non uni sector.
(Mirror situation in that we can't control it either way)
