That's why it's so important to organize and form local communities. That's who will help you when you're in need. That's who will defend you when they come after you. That's who will stand with you when we get rid of the nazis.

And to look back for ideas. When the first organised industrial workers started to protest, they also formed mutual aid societies to help their members and their families in cases of death, disability, sickness and unemployment.
The welfare state was born from that, it wasn't given from above.
I absolutely agree with you. It’s really hard when you have 3 hours to yourself everyday though you know? Gotta work for 8 hours, take care of the house/cook for 2 hours. With what energy can we organize you know? Especially in rural places where we don’t have libraries and everything closes at 7
Not trying to be defeatist about it either I just think there’s a lot of people in leftist spaces that don’t fully grasp the reality of how difficult it is for everyday people. And their only strategy to mobilize people is guilt and fear on an individual scale, which hasn’t worked thus far
Thank you! I'm in a similar situation where I *want* to help but due to my living/working situation + nothing happening locally (if it is, I can't find it). I feel so stuck.
I like AOC’s approach of doing what you have energy for, even if it’s only a little bit. Write reps when you get a wave of motivation, drop informative flyers about our rights. Even if it’s not much all at once, it’s ok to be kind to ourselves. We’re in the long haul now, no reason to burn out early
I realize that doesn't solve the "can't find a group" problem, but there's only so much I can do with 300 characters. Search your city online. Check your local UUC church. Join or start a union at work, the IWW and AFL-CIO have contacts on their website to help with that and answer questions.
Self-care first, then do what you can. Can you attend one meeting a week? Do that. Not sure you can do it regularly? Just do what you can. Don't have spoons for a protest, but can drop off food at lunchtime? Do that. Just do what you can to organize. That's all we need.

If you can go to a particular action, do it, even if you can't go to the others.
Do what you can. Survive with the rest. That's all we need.
