We reacted to a review on “The Physiology of Hunger" written by an author that had not really published on this topic before. A bit weird. Anyway, the review described three types of hunger: 1) homeostatic, 2) hedonic, and 3) microbiotic. 2/5

Finally, microbiota-driven hunger might be an exciting area of research, but it is important to highlight that the role of gut microbes in obesity development is unclear (and the evidence is weak) - nicely discussed by @matthewjdalby.bsky.social here 👇 5/5
