I am 100% in line with you on this.
Local hospitals are bursting at the seams with, "Very, very sick people." Many of these ppl went to the ER with Influenza A symptoms... and are being admitted with pneumonia.
Good friend of ours has both parents in hospital. One is not expected to recover. 🙁

I was at the hairdresser yesterday. My stylist said that everybody who worked there got sick at the beginning of February.

This is what's going on with influenza in Ontario. It's very unusual and concerning. If this continues, we will see an elevation of illnesses, absences, and death rates in Ontario and a longer term impact on hospital and medical resources.

Nothing more impressive than a person who does the right thing despite social pressure to do the opposite. Anyone can ignore science and risks, and be part of the "normal" crowd that infects each other during a wave. We talk about health + fitness but draw the line at infectious disease protection.
