Somewhat related, but I've seen people - actual people - engage with bots and other suspicious accounts, on purpose, so that more of these accounts would follow them in order to inflate their number.
Then their posts, the ones they put effort into, get around 2 likes on average.
It's so sad tbh.

The number of followers a person has 📈 isn't nearly as important as the person themself. If you're one of those types that judges others solely based on followers, it might be time to reassess what you value.
People aren't just numbers. 😒

What makes platforms like these feel good to use are the connections made.
You, and other friends, are what keeps me coming back. Friends make these platforms fun.
It only becomes suspicious, imo, when it surpasses a certain number and the person actively engages with bots in order to attract more of them.
1. Bigger follower count than following.
2. Only averaging a very, very small amount of likes/replies, when compared with their follower count.
3. Actively engages with bots and other suspicious accounts, that attract more of those sorts of "followers."
All for the sake of faking popularity?
I don't get it.
Making new acquaintances who could turn out to be important friends one day.
Even if that doesn't happen, and they remain an acquaintance, they'll still bring fun things to the timeline.
