I think anyone who wants to ban a book has to be able to pass an AR test about the book before they can even speak

At our library, the first question on the request for reconsideration form is Do you have a library card with us? The second is Have you read the book in its entirety?

The truth is, the people banning THOSE books (and it isn't ones with actual sexual themes or scenes, just things they don't like) just don't want to have those conversations with their kids. The other ones don't want them learning this stuff, so they can't report the abusers......
