Boy, they fight! I feed a herd of them and they are so possessive of territory. They live up to 16 years and do bring presents like crows. I love them.
Good grief. What was this shot with? That is beautiful clarity. I am just getting started in nature photography and hope to have such shots in the future.
I love blue jays. I’ve been told they are the dick heads of the bird world and I can confirm that they bully the neighborhood. Taking up space and owning it.
They look so dynamic it's like they saw the camera and decided to put on a show and the image is so crisp and the framing is just perfect too omg how was this picture even captured this is WILD 11/10
This is a GORGEOUS photo that I love as much as life! Thank you for sharing it with us. Having checked out your TL, I find that I have to follow you. If you object, let me know and I'll go away.
I tried saving a baby Blue Jay from the middle of the street only to be attacked by the parents and beeped at by people for blocking the street. I finally got the baby to safety and a neighbor sitting on his stoop said I’ve been watching those birds attack people all day.
Just like Mockingbirds do. I attempted to ‘save’ a fledgling Mockingbird, after it fell out of its nest. Unknowingly, it was actually TIME for him to do so. I got pecked/pinched on the ass by the mommy, just as I bent over to pick him up. Lesson learned. Neighbors laughed.
This is an extraordinary shot, but I think ( having witnessed this in my yard) they aren’t saying HI! The one is telling the other “ my territory, go away!”
