This change (https://classweb.org/tentative-subjects/2412a.html?loclr=eashal), goes against long established principles of literary warrant (Gulf of Mexico has over 500 years of literary warrant), cultural warrant (Mount Denali as always had that name with the indigenous peoples), and common use.

Talking points can include:
Current discovery systems at most libraries cannot provide use-for or see-also references

The change will effectively lose thousands of resources bearing some form of these names

It goes against well-established principles of literary warrant, cultural warrant, and common use

The change is due only to political capriciousness and is not based in evidence-based needs.

Not a library human and not comfortable making those arguments but still want to say something? Well, US sovereignty only extends 12 nautical miles from baseline shore, and exclusive economic zones do not confer naming rights to international bodies of water. Just saying.
