A reason cars are big and expensive today is the shift to leasing on PCP. These mean there's little incentive to build a small car with a low headline price, as people just see the monthly (rental, effectively) cost. If bells & whistles & bulk add £10k, the makers don't care: you'll pay for it

Unfortunately most tend not to consider this when house buying "this one is 30k cheaper!" overcomes "this one is 5 mins to a decent station"
And yes it's all the unnecessary frippery.
Do people really need heated and ventilated seats and 360 cameras and all the other crap?
The overload from the car aids was very high.
I like parking sensors because I don't trust what I can't see, but they should not be the excuse to design out visibility.
None of this means that we don't need to have a long, hard look at the effects of PCP.
If they want to do a good article, they should do it on using a bus.
