We r all now literally dependednt on the current global economic system. Its 2 late 2 make the system change needed in the necessary time-frame. 2try, wud result in system collapse, chaos, war, famine, &billions wud die.

I think a lot of people support the general concept of climate action until it comes impacts on their daily activities. It often seems to me to be a case of "something must be done about climate change!" as long as that "something" doesn't include less flying, eating less meat, or giving up the car.

Exactly! That's why I like pushing the idea of "functional denial" to try to draw attention to this gap, and to suggest we can't expect a different outcome without changing the way we do things

Coordinated collective action that involves restructuring the developed world's economies is actually hard. It impacts a lot of people and *only* collective action will make a difference. We do not appear to have the skills required to do this -- and probably won't until the impacts become obvious.
