It's already being done in Montréal so why not in Toronto? Is Ottawa looking at doing something similar anytime soon?

I had heard about this also in Montreal. We have been talking about it in advocacy circles in Ottawa to improve accessibility for 🚶‍♀️🚲🧑‍🦼 but I'm not sure the appetite is there with current council and our mayor. I think these efforts are small resource wise, but could have huge benefits!

Worth noting that Safer Roads Ottawa and another similar group on the Quebec side has a team of volunteers that ride the pathways in summer to provide support to users - really great! But having paid city staff out there would likely be able to raise infra issues more efficiently.

Not sure if citizen reporting is within the scope of that motion, but it does need to be looked at. I focused my submission on the need to expand this initiative to the inner suburbs ASAP.

We wrote to encourage them to not be so bike centric and perhaps also use e-scooters…would be helpful for the city to ensure the roads are safe for us as well…
