Not bloody likely, since the overwhelming majority of them are wealthy, or dependent on the wealthy to get re-elected. A whole lot of very wealthy individuals and corporations donate to both the GOP and Dems more-or-less equally.
I think this is just describing an entirely new party that arises after American Civil War 2: Election Didgeridoo concludes and the new republic has a parliamentarian coalition system.
One of the simplest reasons to explain Trump’s rise to popularity within politics is his Anti Establishment stances(however performative they are). The democrats are very openly pro establishment, and never acknowledge how broken our systems are. BUT…
If democrats adopted an anti establishment position, but correctly identified the establishment as the corporations that dictate our policy, they’d have a winning platform.
I don't know if they'll ever give that up. Obviously there are Democrats who recognize the evil of corporations, like AOC, but the people in charge of The Democrats will never relinquish their positions. I'm not saying it's hopeless, but these old fuckers are too stubborn to change.
I feel that both camps have established that they don't hate the elite powers that be. The right hates powerful government and the left hates powerful corporations. But the real issue is the corrupt symbiotic relationship they have to enrich eachother in an exponential cycle
Private sector has more resources they use those resources to lobby and get their way, this then enriches those in government that will take their resources and stay in government longer because of it and reach a wider audience. They then give more rewards to private sector and it repeats
I don’t remember the exact name of the legislation, but Bill Clinton is who shifted the democrat party into Republican levels of corruption corruption and lobbying with a similar bill. Maybe it was about pacs or something
Oh I know. I think voters are waking up to the fact that the dems are no different than the republicans in that way. Republicans voters clearly have no problem with how craven their party is, but dems need to change quick if they ever want to be voted in again
The problem is its hard to be anti establishment when you are the establishment. They couldn't name a single issue with the biden administration people cared about they offered to change.
That's very true. I remember in 2016 I had a coworker that swapped feom being on the Bernie train to going full neo-nazi trump supporter. He didn't actually care about specific policy, just the anti-establishment vibe in general.

End of the day, the D's playbook is to just "vote for us or get the R's again", which is...uh, not inspiring.
I keep showing up to the booth under duress. I wish I had the parasocial relationship Trumpers have.
There have been a few outliers here and there, but it's almost a 3 in 10 chance.
