Yeah that’s why I’m skeptical too. Seems like a bombshell that you would want to back up with some real data. It’s also a little fishy because it makes it sound like it was planned last-minute and not over years and set into motion on the 50th anniversary of the 1973 war.

I bet both were at play. It's not unusual for militaries to have latent plans for invading an unfriendly neighbour, like the infamous Schlieffen Plan.

It sounds like both sides were planning for the deterioration of the secret negotiations to isolate Hamas from the West Bank, who knows how long.

The graffiti means this was an area the IDF thought they controlled at one point. An underreported story in English language media is that the IDF could never hold any territory in Gaza for long. Their last losses before the ceasefire were in Beit Hanoun, an area they “cleared” several times.
