Perhaps, and I say this because it happens very often on my work newsletter mailer, it was the recipient's email provider doing a spam check.
Sometimes the filter "clicks" every button in an email to ensure it's not malware. And that includes the unsubscribe button.
It's very inconvenient.

I get that. I'm amazed when people open my newsletters within minutes of sending. (To my AuDHD brain, enabling email notifications on my phone would be overstimulation hell 😉).
