We had our monthly Street drinks this afternoon. The rain scared some of them away. I stayed in the rain with my 80yo South African neighbour who lived in Canada for many years. Had a great chat. #SupportCanada. 😊🤞🦋

Where I live you just wander down the road and sooner or later you have ended up drinking at a few places. Usual conversations concern fish and the weather. Either the weather stops you from fishing or the fishing is bad.
We can't do this in Canada now less we freeze our bodies stiff in minus 40 degree wind chill weather. That's 40 Celsius by the way which when converted to F is similar.
Any no sugar pop on tap? I don't drink. And, while the rest of you lose your inhibitions to alcohol, I can pepper you all with personal questions that I know you will definitely answer

Sounds like a nice thing. What is it you do? In the UK we have street parties every 25 years to celebrate the fact that most of our land is held privately by a wealthy minority who avoid paying tax.
We have a street whatsapp group. It’s an agreed last Sunday of the month thing. Our neighbour sends out a message. Drinks on Sunday. People bring a bottle of wine and snacks. It’s fun. 😊🤞🦋
That’s nice Jen. We used to go to street drinks…I had to say no more, the gossiping and badmouthing of other neighbours (that I like) and the struggle to be polite and not challenge opinions (I failed this regularly). Fuck them. The neighbours I do like are in the SES. The others are racist.
And again, there was an old bloke there who had met me previously but had forgotten. I was able to pull out the old. Yes we’ve met. I remember you but you don’t remember me. Always a goodie. 😊🤞🦋
