I've never understood how we can separate one animal from another with our concern. Per year in north america:
* 1.3-4bn birds killed by cats
* 36mn cattle slaughtered
* 8bn chickens
* roughly 500k each coyote & racoon
Save lives where you can I guess, but what if: get more people into plant meats.
Sorry, I grew up on a farm in the northern Midwestern US. I see no problem with a predator doing something useful.
Sorry if you don't understand the dance of the ecosystem. It takes multiple things in many complicated patterns in many orbits. Not every 'yote gets to eat my chickens. That's reality
I’ve got 3 packs of coyotes, a bear, & birds of prey on a land just 10’ behind my pasture fence. Everyone here just builds strong chicken coops, put bear rated electric fencing around their beehives & horses, and LGD’s for the one house with sheep. No need to kill the yotes.
Kill methods horrendous. 40% skinned while alive, even conscious. 100 million animals killed for fur a year. Poor creatures, unfortunate to have been born with fur.
It’s sickening, this is 2024 people, who uses real fur anymore. People faux fur is just as good. No one has to die. Heartless bastards there’s just so much evil in this world. They don’t value life.
Not only his life, there’s a 4 in 10 probability that he will be skinned alive! That goes for all the other poor animals: raccoon dogs, foxes, dogs, cats, minks and others. It is a hideous industry to make a product that no one needs. And the kill methods are horrendous.
I don't know what the answer is. However, they have devastated our ecosystem in Louisiana. Quail wiped out, the rabbit population devastated, and the turkeys are hanging on. Unchecked, they destroy the balance of nature. With predators, like wolves and cougars, mostly gone, they run amock.
