A federal appeals court has left in place a mid-January deadline in a federal law requiring TikTok to be sold or face a ban in the U.S.

Attorneys for TikTok and its China-based parent company, ByteDance, are expected to appeal to the Supreme Court.

Good. It's an addictive platform that China didn't let loose in their own country. In China they have a much more dialed down version which prohibits addiction. Not to mention the spy component and disinformation. Frankly, most social media including this one should be made less addictive.
In America, every time the government finds itself in a lawsuit, all they need to do is say "national security" and they automatically win the case. No evidence needed.
Why are WE telling other countries what to do with THIER companies? Seriously, WTAF?
Didn't the dipshit Americans elected say that he was saving TikTok? He did! So, what's the problem?
Lol I love how our government thinks they’re gonna be able to stop people from using TikTok. Go ahead and buy it… We’ll just see a VPN.
After what Russia pulled on TikTok this month in Romania its time to impose the ban.
Wonder which connected elites lobbied for that one? Boggles the mind...
Just in time for Trump and Musk to buy it. I get it now!
I told my wife last year it's literally a Chinese spy tool and she shrugged her shoulders.
Thousands, maybe millions make their living on TikTok. Most politicians post on TikTok. What kind of BS is this???
I’ve found it to have incredibly civil user empowered chat areas to discuss politics and social issues.

In that I’m not being force fed BS like on FB & X …

My sense is too many people make too much money & brands rely on it for reach.
Right, which is why I guess I am surprised it has gotten this far. Unless the plan is to force a sale to a US billionaire with nefarious intentions…kind of like X.
You took the words outta my mouth! I think so too.

Remember, in Russia Putin has taken control of everything. Think communism, where wealth is shared, but now imagine it only shared by the top 5%.
