The thing folks talk about the most with more senior folks is that they solve problems faster, easier, cheaper, and/or more long term solutions than more junior folks.
One thing we don't talk about and it's invisible, is that more senior folks presolve, or prevent from even happening untold issues.

Business response: Have 5 people look into it
Actual solution: Just check the logs
It's fun how there's like this thing about you don't pay for time, you pay for experience
They're just paying for my time, at my experience rate, it's weird

A problem is noticed, they freak out, I'm like "it's fine, there's no issue, it's just not something we anticipated" and it takes me an hour to talk to them down, but then they return to fear and report it as a bug
They're liiiiterally just paying me for time lol
They themselves are almost never invisible and often in the line of fire.
What if the error never happened? Or what if the error msg ...
Soon enough that some junior solved it easily.
That's what a senior does automatically (good ones, there are always iffy ones).
They prevented not only long downtime, but multiple other people from being retasked, a manager from stepping in, etc...
Seniors are worth their weight in any metric, shame on MS, but also hire these folks if you're looking.
