'starter packs' (and block lists to a lesser extent) are such a weird feature to me, i dont understand why id want someone else to decide my feed for me or why id want to follow a bunch of random people??

This has been my issue too. I think a lot of people have followed me because of starter packs and I'm really grateful -- biggest following I've ever had. But there is definitely a difference in the "level" of interest in individual follows versus a wave. Gotta stop asking to be in starter packs lol
