i know him irl, and he streams a lot on twitch. one of his viewers has gifted him the game on Steam a few days before, but he had barely touched it yet. i was talking to him about the game on christmas eve, and i mentioned that there was a mobile version

and since then, almost every single stream has been balatro runs. and i just heard the other day that he's gotten like 2-3 other people addicted to the game as well.
