I still love that you share such uncomfortable stuff. I knew sugar was also a plantation crop, but unaware so much of it was on in the US. The diluted history focused on cotton. The repercussions of current bigotry on current growers was not known to me. Not to mention the enslavement of sugar 1/
This is unsurprisingly horrible. I remember hearing about the terrible farming discrimination when listening to the 1619’podcast. Such a great program. Highly recommend listening to anyone who hasn’t heard it.
