Maridia is only rough if you're bad at jumping, it really sucks to get in there like I did without the gravity suit, though, it just fucks you over soooo bad and I thought it was INTENDED

And getting out iirc was really annoying I can't recall what the difficulty was but I strongly remember the feelings of annoyance I had. The only other time I got stuck was when I had no idea how to get Ice Beam (which honestly was really hinted, in retrospect, with that enemy going into the wall)

Yeah you absolutely need it. The biggest frustration to me hands-down was the boss. I couldn't beat Draygon for the longest time until I learned you could grapple the electric nodes on either side of the arena.
