New paper, arguing that genAI offers a profound reckoning for modern philosophy's 'representationalist realism', advocating instead a 'rich relational realism', as per (Gili and Maddalena 2022). I also draw on Peirce's semiotics to argue that LLMs can do symbols but not icons or indices.
