I had this setting turned off and just checked it got turned on automatically, it's worth checking again if you haven't in a while

Which as a reminder, Bsky has had a sizeable korean and japanese population for ages, and unfortunately this setting could mean you're missing out on a lot of cool people. This is not a preference or what you post, this -limits- what languages you see! Set it to nothing!

it reset to english for me so i just turned it off because searching through that mess fucking sucks
