All matters relating to immigration should be removed from the HO and given to FCO (they will hate dealing with such matters but tough), that will end the theatre of cruelty that is the HO dealing with such vulnerable people. HO can then focus on dealing with actual crime.

Local authorities pick up where the Home Office abdicates responsibility. The immigration system itself is a root cause of homelessness and it won’t be resolved without clear responsibilities placed on the Home Office.
