Excellent game from my favorite series! If you're learning/playing solo, this one is particularly tough due to the scale of the map but stick with it -- the payoff is definitely worth it

Yeah I was thinking of starting with Cuba Libre but I’m only somewhat into that theme. Fire in the Lake is the theme I’m drawn to the most by far out of the COIN series games so I thought I may as well just jump in to the deep end.

I found Cuba Libre good for learning and still play it, but I find the “bigger” games more fulfilling. Andean Abyss is on rally-the-troops.com, so easy to play remotely. The interface is excellent, thanks @ccxvii.bsky.social!

I found the harshrules videos in YouTube very useful to get the mechanics. Of course that's just a fraction of the enterprise. Then you have to learn how to strategies, but that's just a matter of playing it until u figure out

Ruleswise is not very complex, but it can be a bit opaque and needs some plays to be able to read the game state. You´re in for a treat :)

Good luck. Cuba is probably 100% easier to learn the mechanics on but FitL is the better game
