Oooh, lots. Any particular topics you want to cover? I’d true that most of what we teach is absolutely dominated by like five cities, but that’s a lot of great stuff about the South going back to the very early days of American sociology.

I'm more interested in the style/length than the subject TBH. Basically, any broad topic that can be covered in Intro Soc. I'm looking for something under 10 pages written in a way accessible to undergrads. I'll take all your recs!

While not technically a sociologist, I’d recommend David Jones’ work. His last works were looking at health inequalities in the Mississippi Delta and the political determinants of those inequalities.

There’s a forthcoming book that will likely have even more interviews.

I understand the reason for this is the concentration of "elite" graduate programs on the coasts and Midwest. Still, I think a case study or interview project that wasn't about Berkeley, Boston, or Chicago might appeal to my students.
