His vision for America sounds like a place I want to live, raise my family , & help my country be great. It hurts me to say this ,but as a Veteran our current leadership makes me embarrassed to be an American .

In addition to being articulate, competent, and downright brilliant, he has a vision of what America should be and seems to know right from wrong. Such individuals are too few and far between in our current political landscape.
I have voted for "Mayor Pete" every time I could. His intelligence, insight and empathy make him the best of America. He speaks 7 languages fluently, he is a veteran...he checks all my boxes.
Be careful. Obama sounded good too and basically screwed us and made Trump possible. What specific policy is Buttigieg championing? Medicare for All? Living wages? Affordable housing. Is he being very specific or talking in generalities. Fear he is a neoliberal and we donβt need more of that bs.
I'd say that's the typical reductive view of Senators running for president. They're used to be one of 50 in a caucus and can focus on one or a handful of bills.
Pete's an executive at heart. He'd set priorities of course but the goal is to improve *everything* while having Congress work on new laws
True. But if Pete has higher goals he has to be specific about policies he is willing to go to the mat for. Talking in generalities will no longer be tolerated by the base.
Pete had a detailed, comprehensive platform in 2020 and he talked about lots of different policies.
But governing happens mostly or completely within existing laws and a president doesn't have the luxury to focus on one specific issue even when trying to get Congress to act on his/her priorities.
Freedom and the means to live a good life for all, not just for the wealthy 1%!
Peteβsβ¦ βIβve Got A Dream!β He getβs it! We all HAVE A DREAMβ¦ if ONLY we could βlive in peaceβ and be allowed to follow our dreamsβ¦
Sad, but true. Neither will a woman. Dems need to figure out how to win non MAGA Republicans over. Theyβre racism, misogyny and homophobia will deter them from voting for anyone but a white male. Disgusting, I knowβ¦
Veteran partnered with retired Air Force NCO, I don't feel like I did 10 years ago when I wanted everyone to know this about us. Now I just wear my Kamala, Bernie, AOC, and Trump For Prison t-shirts and keep my mouth shut about me.
Now just imagine what would have happened if someone with the clarity of vision, and rhetorical skills, of Pete Buttigieg had been our nominee in 2024. (or 2020, for that matter).
There has been a gradual eroding of good principle. States put themselves before the Bill of Rights. Why? Because they can? That's not a sustainable reason. @petebuttigieg.bsky.social https://Innocenceproject.org https://Fatherhood.org

Oh crap, I thought you were talking about our Grifter in Chief at first, since I heard that from a lot of Maga relatives. Not good for my blood pressure, I need to pay better attention.

Pretty soon regular folks will have limited options - survive & suffer, resist & suffer or leave the US. All bad options.

In what reality is that a good idea?
