I went to see The Wild Robot and I keep thinking about the larger trend in computer animation over the last few years of films taking a more painterly approach to visual design.
Like it's wild how much everything looked the same for a long time and now doesn't.

It made my girl cry 5 times and she NEVER cries.
It was a homage to mothers. It is worthy in my opinion to be admired.
I am so proud of this generation of men becoming better fathers and this movie can help that.
I watched it three times in a row. Once with my son, once alone and once with my girl.
Brilliant it was really good.
I’ve only heard of places like that when they’re threatened with closure because of increased property costs or threats of development and they have a fundraiser like for Movie Madness in Portland or Scarecrow Video in Seattle! You must live in a quirky city
And I am also very saddened to see that there is now a 'Pixar style'. Like, Pixar used to be this visionary, innovative company, which always pushed the boundaries of animation, and now they most often settle on the safest and blandest style ever.
I'm glad, too, that they realized they could do anything with those boxes, not just animals doing inappropriate things (usually driving).
