At this point I've just sort of slipped into antipathy regarding Americans in general, personal connection or no. At this rate, I'd throw myself in the woodchipper for letting everything since 9/11 happen just as much as I would my own mom, my best friend, or anyone else I made eye contact with.
I don't know how people can laugh about it at all, even outside of the US.
The US is so strongly influential on global economy that even if Amercians 'deserve it' (you don't) they'll take the rest of us down with you.
For eg 45% of my online shop sales were from the US and they dried up overnight.
I do know that, I was referring to people specifically laughing AT Americans as if they all deserve it.
Laughing about something to cope is very different to laughing AT people suffering.
Yes, I'm aware of that distinction, but you wrote "I don't know how people can laugh about it at all, even outside of the US." so that's what I replied to.
I don't think it needs to be 'to cope' either, it can just be that terrible things are funny sometimes, no coping involved.
Yeah, when these kinds of rulers get bored of wrecking their own country they inevitably turn their eye towards their neighbors. All that talk about annexing Canada etc is just idle fantasy for now, but soon they'll discover that they *really* like bombing people.
It’s more than that. It’s also the actions of the current US admin wrecking global economy and security, and actively enabling many of the WORST leaders in other countries, like Putin, Netanyahu, Erdogan, Bukele, Modi, and all the rest of the ghouls.
Soon they'll start posting shit like: Which foods can you survive without eating to save costs :)
Have you tried cancelling electricity to your home to cut costs in moderate months? :)
I don't want the suffering either but sometimes I think the only way out of this nightmare is for capitalism to eat itself and we fix things in the aftermath.
This is what I kept thinking about brushing my teeth. Like the last month is just us getting thrown into the wood chipper over and over and like what a stupid way to learn capitalism does in fact have an edge case
Oh yeah. Would be very hilarious if not for those two particular facts. And also the pain going to the people abroad against these assholes. It's almost like a lot of voting adults in America cannot understand the concept of interconnectedness.
This comment parallels the thinking of trump voters acting like it somehow wouldn't effect them negatively, and only the people they don't like. Blind hatred inevitably made their lives worse too.
I never said I don't like americans. I just said I don't know any. The really sad thing is having to protect the institutions hurting you just because you think destroying then would affect you. This seems more selfish than actually biting the bullet and let the oligarchic system collapse.
Implication for plausible deniability, something trump deploys. Malignant optimism, part of the fantasy he shares with his supporters. Careful when staring into the abyss.
I recommend focusing your energies against yhe real evil here, and not against your allies. But whatever, keep subtly insulting your potential allies if you think this will help. The real enemies will be happy to know we keep distracting each other.
Hey so I'm not sure if you're aware of this but there's a lot of people in the United States who suffer because of government suppression and who fight against US imperialism and don't really deserve that. And also most people in general. Maybe don't want people to suffer. That would be good
I just think people in the US will be better after the institutions keeping oligarchs in power crumble. The people are more than welcome to ride this time in my country. My country does not have a great democracy (thanks to 40 years of US promoted facism), but it's still better than nothing.
I agree with you on the oligarchy needing to crumble. I remember reading once that the US has a low amount of corruption in government but this simply isn't true. Here it's just that what other nations would consider corruption is perfectly legal. A lot of politicians in congress become lobbyists

It sucks.

It is terrible that the AI scam bubble bursting is probably going to tank the entire global economy, it is also funny.

They don’t need direct attacks to cause damage.
Nytimes: “is your dehumidifier making you sick?”
The world: *literally on fire*

They are also making sure to destroy Europe
