You aren't alone. Being disabled in this world is exhausting, dehumanizing, & isolating. I'm privileged to have loved ones to lean on, but if smth happens to my caretakers, I'd immediately fall into a similar situation as yours. Wasted almost 3 years in vocational rehab, only to hit a dead end. My only hope is marrying my beloved, changing to their insurance, getting kicked off of disability as a result, & starting my own business. That's the goal, but the reality is that I truly have no complete control of my life.

I've come to terms recently that I'll never be independent. My life will always ultimately be in the hands of someone else. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but the world we live in makes us feel shame for needing help. The humiliation we are put through is by design.

I’m disabled and need a carer probably but our society is not set up for anyone to support anyone without it being a say marriage and even then burnout happens and the government doesn’t give much to stabilize people in situations like mine.
