I distinctly remember being in awe of the Tryout book! Just the very idea of it. 😆

I worked comic retail in the 80s for a while and it's the source of strange memories. It set the course of my life.

It happens, I still get people thinking I'm from Wisconsin because The Onion reprinted Milk & Cheese comics back when it was a print entity. I was the token Yank at Deadline, at least until they started reprinting Jaime and Pete Bagge (iirc).
