I'm torn on the concept of a Direct this week. But I WILL say if it happens, it's one final opportunity for my prediction to come true that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is a Switch 1 game that will ONLY be playable on Switch 2 through backwards compatibility, not a crossgen game like BotW was. Just seems smart to release Metroid to the bigger audience even though prime 4 may benefit from the hardware upgrades of switch 2

Oh, interesting! 😮 Could you go into why you’re split on a Direct this week? Given that the Switch 2 direct is only a week off, I don’t see why Nintendo would want to offset the steam for that — especially since most launch titles will likely be backwards compatible (though not promoted that way)

My prediction is that there’ll be mouse style pointer controls for Samus on switch 2, with the game knowing what console it’s on as opposed to two versions. Kind of the same way they handled the prime trilogy on Wii. Basically - some sort of perk for playing on the new system.

Nintendo doesn’t seem to care about angering their consumer base, but this would annoy me greatly. I bought the switch because they prematurely announced Metroid Prime 4. After the WiiU debacle, I was done with Nintendo until they announced this game.
