I never pegged February as the month I would spot my first tornado! Damn, Wisconsin, your weather is crazy! My apologies to the poor 911 operator - I might've been a bit excited!

What really struck me as a 'traveler', is the lack of news while driving! Some FM channels did cut in the NOAA weather radio calling out the tornado. Neat Beloit there's a big video screen rotating ads - at one point it showed "Tornado warning!" but rotated out to another ad within 10 secs.
So I learned early to check MyRadar and other radar apps while driving. But now I'm even thinking of just taking a NOAA weather radio with me in the car :-)
There's live NOAA internet streams available, but finding those while driving is difficult :-)
Other than the mandaded EAS alerts, radio was totally useless! I was lucky to have a local TV station streaming the play-by-play on my phone through my TV app. My phone was also alerting reliably when they issued alerts, but no match for the weatherman calling out the location on radar.

When at home I got a basement, and a tornado siren that I can see from my kitchen window.
But when around 54624 I need the radio :-) There's nowhere to hide other than a camper. Paperweight for a tornado!
