I've had a Canon pixma pro series that prints on thick stock. But as mentioned before, home printers are such a tremendous outlay of money both for the machine and the incessant litany of ink cartridges that seem designed to dry up if you look at them wrong. For most stuff, I send it out.

If you find a cheap one, it's nice to have around just for testing things. But even for one-offs of reasonable quality, it's often a lot easier and cheaper overall to farm it out. Someone ELSE has to deal with the maintenance, and the failed prints from the dried inks, and the miscalibration.

I used to just print at work and that was PERFECT! I would have got away with it if I was still going in to invigilate as well but they messed that up for me.🤪😂

Ink jet printers are useless money pits. If you need it for a specific job, on card stock, you’d probably do better - and possibly cheaper - to get them done by a print company. I use https://www.printed.com/

That is another option I've looked at. I know printing companies local to me, just having my own printer means I can print as/when I want/need too haha. Just looking into options atm!😄

The only good home printer I’ve ever had is my current Brother laser printer. But it doesn’t do colour or heavy card. (The previous inkjets didn’t do those things well tbf, and ink cartridges are £££££!)
I shop around online for the best print deals - it’s easy since the world went digital.

I had a Brother given to me a few years ago and it never printed properly even on normal paper haha.

I probably will go with my local printing company, just would be easier to have my own but logistically probably isn't worth it.🤭🤭

I believe it handles proper chunky card stock (it has a straight feed from the back) yes. I haven’t tested it on big sheets but it takes 300gsm postcard stock without complaint.
