I'm from a third world country and we were shown IN SCHOOL, somewhat horrific images of people suffering from diseases that can be vaccinated now. Even now movie goers are forced to watch a guy suffering from lung cancer due to cigarettes.

I made this point to a friend the day after the election. Doesn't matter even if you know. It's normal human bias behaviour. Apparently absent effects kill behavioural motivation. If we can't see the effects of vaccination, we don't believe they work, even though their effect leads to us not noticing any difference. You can't get that out of humans easily.
