When I was a kid I was a sick fuck about Pokemon cards, I know everyone says that but no seriously, I’m not talking ‘first edition charizard’ I’m talking like ‘extremely exclusive promo cards that 10 people owned and already were $1000+ in the early 2000s’

Yeah, flooding has more TCG player bodies than anything else. Sorry it happened!

Magic has formats, but only Standard has cards cycle out. All the other formats are eternal, so cards only leave due to banning for balance. Vintage is the exception, as most banned cards are restricted instead.

But almost no one plays the oldest formats in paper, they're almost exclusively online due to the Reserve list not affecting online reprints. So it's mostly for Commander decks and Cube, which is a set players create to draft.

To be fair I only spent a bit of money on it and I really didn't need to spend that. This is mostly just spending 5 minutes with it a day opening packs so it feels very low investment

I know the pain, I have like 4 different gotcha games that I played in the past, the Star Wars one for YEARS.

I actually just got into the Gran Blue world last year with the fighting and character action games and watching the anime a couple of years ago. I like a lot of the character designs. Never got into the gacha, though!
