No joke the thought of how a Metal Gear x Sonic AU would work has been ringing in my head for the whole day. I'd imagine Shadow is created as a result of Big Boss's DNA, and Shadow's immortality would have him live to see the mass production of Shadow Androids alongside Metal Gears.
