No idea. She's never acted injured, so either she had an accident before we met her, or she was born missing a leg. It makes it easy to identify her.😉

We had a 3 legged doe and a hunting ban on her specifically. Like yours, she raised twins ever year, and they were big healthy deer. Dad was so angry the year one of his buddies shot her. He banned the entire group.

For a minute, I thought we may be neighbors! I don’t blame your dad for being upset. I’d have been beside myself. When we don’t see her for a week or two during hunting season, we are always on edge.

Our tripod lived about 30 years ago. She'd come to the feeder with the cows, but never got close enough to touch. He'd worry that the neighbors would shoot her. I think she was the only deer he ever got attached to. Seeing yours just reminded me of her.

So interesting that you also had one. We don't pet any of our deer since we want them to keep a healthy fear of people. But Trill keeps an extra bit of space between us to compensate for the fact that she is a bit slower when running. Not much, but a bit. Would yours interact with the cows?

The cows made space for the deer at the feeder, and they'd graze in the field together, but the deer would have their area among the cows. IDK how much they interacted, they coexisted, but I never saw them play or get too close other than feeding time.

No. When she started visiting, it was with three legs only and not from any injury that was obvious. We like to think she was born that way. She's one tough doe!
