So many serious NASCAR people hate Ricky Bobby bc they think it gives them a bad image, when really it’s a bluntly honest contemporary depiction of the sport in its commercial peak that reflects the culture it fostered and continues to foster

Gen Z and Gen Alpha don't enter spaces that feel unwelcoming. They're very vocal about that. If they don't figure out a way to appeal with them, the decline will be very sharp in a few years. As I've said before, it's a branding problem, but they're too stubborn to fix it.
