Cis queer authors, no leaving your trans and nonbinary colleagues behind. White queer authors, no leaving our QBIPOC colleagues behind. Pitch inclusive panels. Read and recommend (and yes, blurb) books by authors who’ve got a bigger target on their backs than we do.
We also have to think before publicly badmouthing each other’s stories out of disappointment or disagreement or, sometimes, jealousy (exceptions for actual harm done).
big underline on Actual Harm and not just personal taste because jfc some people do not know how to dislike something without making it about a perceived moral failing 🫠
We’re going to have to worry about foreign pubs, domestic pubs, repressive legislation, shitty school boards, and locals on crusades to ban our stories from every shelf accessible to the people who need them most. Let us be one less worry for each other. We HAVE to have us.
