Sometimes I just see a message that says "hey" or the equivalent of and I severely lack the energy to reply. Maybe it's just my neurodivergent brain but it's WAY easier for me to get a message that explains what they want rather than going through the whole
"hi"
"yo"
"what's up"
"nm u?"
etc etc

When people were sending letters to each other, they wouldn't say "hey". They would get to the point. You don't send an email that just says "hey" either.
People treat DMs like casual talk instead of a message
But that's not needed with a message. You inherently know a conversation will happen simply because you have something in your inbox.
I don't like when artists hate DMs with "hey" though. It feels mean.
This could be so easily avoided if they just said "Hi" or w/e along with what they wanna ask
