They are! I have a little grove of native elderberry that I have to curate (pull invasive Asian bush honeysuckle seedlings) before the catbirds return. Once they're back, even without berries present, I'm not allowed down there. They get upset if I even come near because that's *their* territory.

Oh, no...not at all! All native birds are welcome here. I plant natives specifically to attract them, so I'm overjoyed when they move in. My job is to plant, curate, and pay the property taxes; theirs is to scold me for coming too close to their turf, and make lots of ugly little bird-children! 🥰
