My absolute favorite growing up!!! It was so impactful because it was the first book that talked directly TO me as a kid. I was part of the narrative and was even nervous to turn the page at times!

As a designer now, I loveee Michael’s illustrations, the fun layouts and hand lettering. So good!!!

I've read it to 3 generations of children. The first was a boy I baby sat for when I was in college in Lincoln Nebraska. His mom was a reading specialist so he got the best books at bedtime.

This is one of the first books I have memories of someone actively reading to me. My aunt used to read it to my sisters and I--and she would get so into it. Her reading really brought all of Grover's emotions to life #pbchat

I wrote my AP bio lab reports in a very narrative style and the teacher informed me that it reminded her of this book. It’s one of the highest compliments my writing has ever received.

In college I tried to impress a girl by reading this story. She had never read it and it was my childhood favorite. I interned with my local cable studio in HS- so I called in a favor, used their studio and editing equipment to film & mailed the VHS. Maybe it worked 🤷we’ve been married almost 20yrs!
