It might become even more diverse in the future. Bäckstedt was already close to it and there are still some other interesting prospects like Chladonova and Ferguson, if they remain active in cyclocross for long enough.

We can remain hopeful, but I have some doubts about those two. At barely 18, they already reduced their cx schedule drastically, and they're not the purely cross gifted. Unlike Gery, they mainly use their excess power.
